I just registered for the Mississippi River Challenge!!! The MRC is a two day, 70 km (44 mile) paddle along the Mississippi River in the Twin Cities area. We’ll be paddling 35 km (22 miles) each day and setting up camp at the historic Fort Snelling on Saturday night.

The main purpose of the event is to help raise funds for the Friends of the Mississippi River to help protect, conserve and restore the Mississippi River. I’ll be setting up a personal web page for collecting donations. If you can help out with a donation of any size, it would be very much appreciated.

About the Friends of the Mississippi River

Founded in 1993, FMR is a leading citizen organization working to protect and enhance the Mississippi River and its watershed in the Twin Cities area. FMR enjoys the support of over 1,300 members, 17 active board members, and 14 staff. Our three-fold approach to our mission embraces the goals of improving water quality, protecting riverfront land, and cultivating a “Sense of Place” by introducing people to the river through a variety of educational, recreational, and volunteer events.
